Oh life.

It does get in the way of blogging at times doesn't it?! I'm on the ball now though.

I know it's February now, so I'm a bit late saying this, but: new year, new start! I not including January because it was all a bit of a miserable haze. But now I'm moving on and looking forward to all the wonderful things that will happen this year. So, to begin my new start I'm going to list my aims, hopes and wishes for the year.

- be an organised squirrel, and succeed in my placement
- go to Paris
- be crafty
- get out of my overdraft
- focus on uni in September
- achieve my BHS stage 2 exam
- find mr. Perfect
- go to shows this summer with my horse (and do well!)
- get my other pony out on loan
- not to neglect my blog
- get fit, eat healthily (standard New Years resolution!)
- be thankful for everything I have and not dwell on my losses, and most importantly...
- BE HAPPY!

Sew busy.

I finally got my stitch on yesterday - work up at an unholy hour (goodness knows why) but decided to make use of the time I had, and got sewing like crazy! Upcycled a load of tops, and with the inspiration of my last post, I upcycled these shorts: (please pretend that you can't see my messy room, it's tidy now!)

All in all, I had a very productive morning! I'll get some pics up of the tops soon :)

Always on the look out for more upcycling inspiration - if you have any tips, please let me know!

Time flies by when you're having fun.

I really don't know how three weeks have passed since I last posted!

Had a lovely holiday with the girls, and it was an interesting experience travelling abroad alone to meet them there, something I have not done before. Saw some good dj sets - annie mac, pendulum and saw example (although I was a few free drinks too many that evening, so not the best memory of the night!). This holiday has made me really excited for Ibiza, where I'm going at the end of August!

As usual, I have been keeping myself busy seeing friends, unpacking uni stuff and riding lots since the holiday. However, now that I have run out of money, I'm realising that unfortunately I can't carry on this way. So, I am going to get myself another part time job (I work behind the bar at weekends at a local sports club) and, more importantly, I'm definitely going to make some clothes for my shop! I plan on beginning the latter today.

Was planning on doing a car boot tomorrow, but the weather is meant to be pretty bad, so I'm going to put loads of old clothes on ebay tonight instead! Not as fun, but seriously lacking space!

Also exciting news on the love front - finally looks like a boyfriend is on the horizon! After over two and a half years of being single, I definitely think I've waited long enough for a lovely Mr. like him :) We actually used to work together years ago, and we recently bumped into each other on a couple of occassions....fate trying to tell us something!? Anyway, we've been on a few dates and it's been lovely! :)

Okay, enough with the lovesick talk. I'm going to get my sewing machine out...it's been a while, wish me luck!

p.s. how sweet is this?! Just cam across this on a blog, and the following pic is a brilliant idea too -

Definitely want to give this one a go - ingenious! Another lovely example of up-cycling, my fave!

Anyway - must get on!! Xx

Snapshot Update

Because I am leaving for my plane to Majorca in about two hours, this post is going to have to be a quickie - so rather than tell you about my recent events, I thought I'd just show you a quick glimpse...

My friend Katie and I felt rather patriotic, baking Jubilee - themed cakes! They tasted just as good as they look, which I can't take credit for, but the icing was all me!

Enjoyed the sunshine with the horses...

...and my bonkers dog, Poppy

My lovely friend Zoe came to stay, we went to Barry Island, a spa and a car boot - where I picked up tonnes of bargains (must show in another post!!)

Cardiff Castle with another lovely friend, who came to visit.

...and yesterday my friend Laura and I went to a monkey sanctuary!

And those are just the best bits! So as you can see I've been a very busy bee lately, and I've been loving every minute of it! And as much as I'd love to write much more about it all - I must dash, as I have a plane to catch!

Well you know what they say; Start as you mean to go on...and if this summer contines the way it has begun, then I think it'll definitely be one to remember!

I hope you all enjoying yourselves this summer too :) Xx

Hello Summer.

Finally I am free from exam stress! I did finish about two weeks ago, but have been so busy I haven't had a chance to share any of my escapades and adventures yet! And I have even more exciting plans to look forwards to over the summer, beginning with a spontaneous holiday with my housemates on Thursday, which I booked today!!

I have just moved the majority of my junk from my student house, back home, so I'm feeling even more scatty than normal right now, with tonnes of unpacking that I am avoiding.

Once I've sorted myself out enough to reach my camera and USB cable, I'll get started on sharing my past could of weeks with you! Xx

Sunshine on my window...

Finally the sun has decided to shine! Feeling really positive and happy today - who wouldn't with this sunshine?! Even if I am stuck inside revising! It's nice being able to wear summery clothes and not have people look at me like I'm crazy because it's cold!  So I've made the most of it (despite only walking across the road to go to the library all day!) with my outfit:

The hoody is Paul's Boutique, River Island high waisted jeans and a t-shirt that I cropped from Primark:

I took the first two photos of my reflection in the mirror, I like the grainy effect the dust makes...

Enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts! xx
